Gift Guide For The NYC Gal

Friday, November 23, 2018

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and here we are at Black Friday!!  It's officially that time to make your gift list and check it twice 😉. As my first gift guide, I thought it would be great to share some perfect gifts for the NYC gal (or any gal for that matter). I've listed the top 15 gifts for the ladies you love living in the city. The price range varies, so there is something for anyone you are looking for! On top of that, since its Black Friday, so many of these items are on sale in store, and a lot online that will go through the weekend to Cyber Monday!

1. Airpods- $159 // Apple
Perfect for anyone always on the move, tangled cords no more.

2.Phone Sticker Pocket-$22 // Kate Spade
I personally think phone stickers are great for anyone. When it comes to the NYC commuter, these are perfect for grabbing a subway card quickly to make the train.

3.Homesick Candles- $30 // Homesick
So many people living in the city (including myself) are living far away from their hometown. A homesick candle is such a thoughtful gift for someone who may actually get a little homesick from time to time (raising my hand high here). There is a huge selection of cities, states and even countries you can choose from.

4. Caddy Handbag Organizer-$195 // Nordstrom
Truthfully, this is a great gift for any gal in your life. This caddy makes it easy to swap out all of your belongings from one hand bag to the next. Not only that, but it keeps your bag organized. I found a less expensive version below.

Container Store - $25

5.Blanket Scarf-$48 //  Free People (Nordstrom)
Walking around in the cold is never fun, so being able to wrap yourself up in a big cozy scarf is the perfect winter accessory

6.Portable phone charger- $50 // Rebecca Minkoff
I can't tell you how many times I've been roaming around the city low on battery with no charger in site. This gift is great for the gal always on the go, they'll never have to worry about their phone dying again.

7.  Winter Boots - $160 // Sorel
I received a pair of Sorel boots last year and never looked back. The city can get  a little   very messy in the winter and these kept my feet warm and dry all season long.

8.Umbrella- $28 // Nordstrom
If your anything like me, you buy an inexpensive umbrella, only to have it break a few weeks later, or not withstand the wind or rain to begin with....judging by the other people I see walking in the city during a storm with a broken or no umbrella, I'd say there are quite a few people like me. Anyway, splurge on a cute sturdy umbrella for your NYC gal, she will appreciate it when shes not soaked after walking in the rain.

9. Floor pillows-$49 or 2 for $80 // Urban Outfitters
I never realized how much I needed these pillows until I saw these pillows......I'm sure by now you've all heard or seen how small New York apartments is. That means limited storage and space for additional chairs and seating. These pillows are perfect for the NYC gal that loves to be the host.
These pillows give guests a comfy place to sit rather then on the floor. When not in use they can be stacked in the corner, or under the bed. Perfect.

10. Slippers- $85 // Ugg
Warm and cozy feet after a long day, enough said....

11.Tech gloves-$10 // Target
A great inexpensive gift that will definitely get a ton of use in the winter.

 12. Tote Bag- $348 // Tory Burch (Nordstrom)
Another gift that will surly get a ton of use. I personally carry a tote bag everyday during the work week. A bigger tote makes it easy to carry all my belongings together rather then having to carry several small for things like my gym clothes, lunch, and extra shoes in the winter. I also linked a less expensive one below.

Nordstrom - $50

13.mini waffle maker- $10 // Bed Bath and Beyond
This mini waffle maker is an adorable gift for a friend that occasionally likes to skip out on the boozy brunch (We in NYC take unlimited cocktail brunch very seriously). Since its mini, it is perfect for a smaller kitchen, which I'm sure your friend has if shes living in the city.

14.robe-$100 (special right now $80) - Pottery Barn
After a shower a robe is perfect to slip into, especially for the NYC gal who has roommate(s). Even without roommates, who doesn't love to come home and change into something cozy?
The one I linked can be monogrammed for an additional charge. If this is above your price point, I linked a few less expensive ones below.

Victoria Secret  -$60

Forever 21- $20

Kohls - $22

15. Hello Fresh E-Gift Card $60+ // Hello Fresh
Talk to your NYC pal about grocery shopping here, and I'm sure they will have some sort of horror story to tell. Options are limited/crowded/or expensive. Treat her to a meal (or 3 in this case) on you. This is a perfect last minute gift since it can be sent via email. There is the option to buy 3 or 6 meals, so the price point is you to you!
